2020 was mostly a year that will be hopefully forgotten, but as with most things in life, there have been highlights.
So, with great pleasure we announce the first year of the official Gravity Audio 2020 awards.
Our short but very sweet list of awards are as follows:
Best Stream – DisclosureMusic
A groundbreaking stream hosted by the musical genius duo, Guy and Howard of Disclosure.
They consistently delivered astounding material, sharing their complete work process from inception through to mastering of tracks.
Paired with their weekly BeHoward competitions they reached a talented, global audience and truly cemented the internet as a new medium for the art of audio.
We wish them luck in their 2021 Grammy Nominations.
Best Playlist – Jimpster Wind Down Selection
New to us this year (but curated in 2018), this devine playlist is a presentation of the Freerange Label owner Jimpster.
Best Track – Crackazat – Waterfalls
In a year of much needed happiness, this track delivered a disco-house banger. Our track of 2020.
Originally a Bristolian, Ben Jacobs / Crackazat released this track on Z records.
Best New Artist – RiddimSpanka
After their sublime winning entry Keep Up in the BeHoward competition, this artist has consistently produced some of our favourite new artist music of 2020. Genre defying sounds, with nods to everything from Latin to Hip Hop to Detroit, delivered via clinically syncopated beats. One to watch for sure.
